Systems Engineer

Job Brief:

This team engineers distributed environment changes, including application server environment provisioning, configuration, and monitoring. This role requires excellent operational knowledge of distributed environments in an always-up, always-available service set up. Also required is a solid understanding of application specific needs and related server environment planning and design. The work will include a combination of project assignments and operational/run-the-business support. It includes providing support for environment issues as a third-tier escalation which may require some off-hours support for critical issues.

Job Responsibilities:

-Collaborate with project teams, application developers, and the Enterprise Technology -
group to design and implement infrastructure solutions.
-Create and maintain documentation of application-specific configuration information
and key environment artifacts.
-Create and maintain server environment configuration scripts.
-Troubleshoot environment issues and prevent future occurrences.
-Conduct impact assessment of upcoming infrastructure changes and collaborate with
application teams to minimize risk.
-Support process and technology changes to Improve quality and speed.

-Strong technical aptitude and proven analytical skills
-Proven experience supporting Windows 2008/12, IIS 7.x and .NET 4.x applications in a
production environment
-Strong IIS experience
-Sound working knowledge of Information Security (LDAP, RBAC, Digital certificates)
and Network concepts (Load balancing/ Failover, DNS, FTP, SMTP)
-Powershell scripting
-VMWare VSphere 5.x or higher
-Virtual Server Provisioning experience
-Networking Technologies (TCP/IP, Load Balancing)
-Troubleshooting Tools (SysInternals, Netmon, Perflog, EventLog, Message Analyzer,
Fiddler)
-Windows High Availability Clustering
-Experience with automation/configuration management using DSC, Chef, or Puppet
-Exposure to Cloud services and Cloud integration and deployment
-Application development background (C# or Java)
-Experience with Java/Linux/Oracle technology stack
